Zappos, Twitter and Wedding Photography

Monday, October 18th, 2010

It’s been a long while since I’ve blog on this site. Many things have happen since my last blog post; here is the drive by version of what has happened and what’s going on.

  • We have entered the age of Kindergarten, this is so much fun. We’re dancing, coloring, counting and laughing every night. This reminds me that I want to read Robert Fulghum “All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten”
  • Thank God, we are keeping the house, things have been tough for everyone these past two years and no one has been spared
  • Photography is doing well. We have reached point in our business that we are being referred by vendors that we respect and love; take a look
  • We are at the planning stage for the Dream Wedding Show in February 2011
  • I believe that everyone needs to sharpen their skills and because of that I went to the WPPI ROAD show and met Lawrence Chan of Tofurious, this dude is awesome. I also was very impressed by Andy Marcus of Fred Marcus Photography, a fellow New Yorker, a cool dude.
  • Went to the San Diego Zoo, that was sweet!
  • I just finished reading Gary Vaynerchuk’s “Crush It” and Tony Hsieh’s of Zappos “Delivering Happiness” these books, these dudes are awesome
  • Gary and Tony message hit home and because of that I am now beginning to implement some new ideas to my Wedding Photography. They also have encourage me to run an experiment using only Twitter. To some this might not seem like much of an experiment but I’ve had a Twitter account for about a year and I have never used. The simpleness of this tool seemed daunting to me and going from Facebook to using only Twitter cold turkey is harder than I thought. However Twitter seem to be a vital tool for Gary and Tony business and because of that I think it’s worth a try; send me at “Twitt”

There you have it, I hope all is well and good for you. Send a message a Twitter and let’s chat.
